What an adjustment is
An adjustment is a controlled force applied by hand to a joint that is not moving as well as it should. Patients sometimes hear a pop, which is gas releasing from the joint, not bones cracking.
Adjustments are one tool. Dr. Caruso may pair them with soft tissue work, exercises or other therapies depending on what he finds.
What a visit may include
- A review of your symptoms and health history
- A physical evaluation of posture, movement and tender areas
- An explanation of what Dr. Caruso recommends and why, before treatment begins
- Adjustments only with your consent, and you can ask to stop at any time
Common questions
Some people feel mild soreness for a day or so after an adjustment, similar to after exercise. Tell the office if anything feels unusual.
